Your framework is great BUT


Can we stop pretending like our frameworks are the final word?

We need to do a better job of prioritizing the person over the process.
We need to leave room for the possibility that our method miiiight not work for certain brains, cultures, personalities, circumstances.

That truth doesn't necessarily mean anything about your method, btw.
It's just that you can't possibly have one method that works for everyone and every situation.

Yet so many of us pretend otherwise. Hey, I used to do that, too.
Only because it felt like a risk to admit the truth.

But at some point I realized that when we treat our frameworks like gospel, we stop centering the individual and instead we center our ego.

Rigidity in our methods isn't helpful. And it puts the burden of adaptation on the person we're supposed to be serving.

You've been on the receiving end of that, haven't you? How did it feel when that big time business coach forced their framework down your throat? And how did that work out for you?

All I'm suggesting is that we be more curious about the person than we are committed to our methods.

(A note to self and all the coaches, advisors, consultants, experts out there. 💛)
